Two Loves, One Table
At 87, Doña Elena Calderón has two great loves that define her life: the authentic, vibrant flavors of her hometown, Guadalajara, and the sweeping, soulful mariachi anthems of the legendary Vicente Fernández. La Serenata de Guadalajara is the culmination of her life's journey — a place where these passions are perfectly entwined.
Growing up in Jalisco, Doña Elena learned that true Mexican food is an act of love, prepared only with the freshest ingredients and slow-cooked patience. Her kitchen was a sanctuary, always alive with the music of "Chente." For Elena, a meal without music was like a serenade without a heart.
"A meal without music is a serenade without a heart."
La Serenata is her gift to her family and the California desert community — bringing the true, authentic serenade of Guadalajara, both culinary and musical, to Indian Wells. Every dish is a love song to Jalisco.
